Biometric Door Lock- Find Out What They Are!

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

For a person who has a busy life, the less he needs is recalling all those numbers, passwords and Pin numbers in order to get inside their home. Even this is not enough sometimes, since you need accurate personal identification and verification.

Modern technology has done it again with the new technology called Biometrics. Using your fingerprints or iris for identification and verification would be such a convenience to utilize, and this is made possible with the Biometrics Technology nowadays. An average consumer or a business owner can now own their own biometric gadget to use for identification.

You wouldn’t need a key or a combination and you don’t have to worry memorizing huge chunks of numbers. There are affordable biometric door locks available in the market. You only need your fingerprint to open the door. What safer way to leave your home and go on a trip without having to worry about burglars? A biometric door lock can provide you with such.

If you are the worrisome type and still feel hesitant to use your fingerprint, there are also biometric door locks that can be used with a key, a number combination and your fingerprint altogether.

The BioAxxis Biometric Deadbolt Lock is one of the many variations of biometric door locks. They are made from solid steel deadbolts that have protective sliding cover for the scanner and can accommodate up to 30 unique fingerprints. The low battery alert prompts every charger when it’s time to recharge the doors battery without deleting any stored fingerprint images even if the power expire.

The Shepherd DL210 All-in-One Fingerprint lock on the other hand uses both fingerprint recognition scanner and matching algorithm for fingerprint verification. Compared to BioAxxis, Shepherd DL210 can enroll up to 50 unique fingerprints.

The biometric door lock’s functionality is loved by home owners, especially when they are in a situation that they urgently need to get inside the house (e.g. raining or when nature is calling). Household members such as children or the elderly can also use their fingerprints without having to worry about remembering combination.

Biometric door locks are just one of the famous variations of keyless entry locks. You can actually buy keyless entry locks at your local retail store. When choosing one, remember to check with the manufacturers label on proper ways on how to mount or attach them on your doors. They are affordable, safe, and keeps your home burglar proof most of the time.
